When studying for my emrgency medicine course we were taught that incase of any spillage or petrol tanker accident , follow the rule of thumb.. literally. Move as far away from the tanker such that you can cover the whole scene with your thumb.

I have worked with GSU,policemen and fire men in Kenya but sadly the trainng they recieve in emrgency prepardness is inaequate as has been laid bare for all and sundry.
